Since most kitchen islands are part of an open room layout and can be seen from the living room or great room, painting them can completely transform the look of the room and the feel of the house.

You get to choose a neutral color for your kitchen island cabinets (such as white, gray, black, or cream), or go bold. You can match the island with your other kitchen cabinets, or paint it a different color. Because the island is the focal point of the room, and the usual gathering spot in the house, painting it in a contrasting color can have a dramatic effect. Play around with the color of your island bar stools, and you can really design something stunning!

When it comes to kitchen cabinet painting and the choices our clients have made, we’ve seen some beautiful combinations. For example, the kitchen cabinets might be painted white, and the island is painted a dark blue. Or the kitchen cabinets might be painted black, and the island is painted white.
