What Is Cabinet Painting

Cabinet painting, simply put, is the act of applying paint to cabinets.

Sounds easy, right? Not if you want those cabinets to look good, like new again.

Cabinet painting, also known as cabinet refinishing, is more affordable than cabinet refacing, (which involves replacing the cabinet doors and attaching new finishes to the drawers and boxes / frames).

With cabinet refacing, you’re limited in your color selections, but with cabinet painting, you can choose any color you can dream up. We typically paint kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, and other built-in cabinetry in white, gray, or black, but we’ve also done reds, greens, and other bright colors.

Cabinet painting is not only less expensive than refacing or replacing, but it’s also quicker and more ecofriendly. Nothing gets hauled off to the dump, and nothing new has to be ordered or manufactured!

If you’re considering painting your cabinets yourself, give us a call first, and we’ll give you a free estimate. When you factor in the steps, experience, and expertise it takes to paint cabinets professionally, you might decide that it’s easier to have us do it for you.

Our unique cabinet painting process involves more than 10 steps, including: cleaning, prepping, caulking, sanding, buffing, and priming. We do all of this before we apply a special cabinet paint. We paint your cabinet boxes / frames in place, by hand, using brushes and rollers. We take the cabinet doors and drawers, disassemble them, and paint them in our warehouse. By spray painting your cabinet doors and drawers in a confined area, we can ensure a high-quality finish, without dust or other particles attaching to the finish.
